One More Turf Field for Kids Coming to Ambleside!
Since the announcement of Federal and Provincial funding to support the construction of a turf field designed for field hockey and useable by soccer at Ambleside in September 2009, project planning has been advancing quickly.
The project is expected to include the construction of one additional turf field on Field A (the gravel field beside the tennis courts), warm-up areas for soccer, significant improvements to the field house and adjacent parking areas at Ambleside Park. West Vancouver District Parks staff plans to break ground on the project this Spring. We are excited to be contributing to upgrading the facilities at Ambleside Park, a cherished community asset that has been home to many sports, recreation and arts events for decades.
We are continuing to work with West Vancouver District Parks staff and West Vancouver Field Hockey Club on the design and plans for the project. The project will still require investments of $1.5 million from community sources to be fully completed, so we will be looking to you our members for financial support as the project proceeds.
We hope all WVSC members and your families enjoyed your spring break as well as experiencing the Olympics in our own back yard.
Find Out All About the New Turf Field At Ambleside!
You’re invited to an open house for the Ambleside Project.

West Vancouver District Parks Department is hosting the event to provide information and details about the new Ambleside turf field project that will begin later this spring.
West Vancouver soccer and field hockey club representatives involved in the project will be on hand with West Vancouver District Parks staff to discuss progress and listen to your feedback. This will be a chance to discuss the plans for the construction of an additional Ambleside turf field along with field house facility.
Come out and show your support for a new turf field and a field house at Ambleside that field hockey and soccer players and others will enjoy for years to come.
