The Field Sports Forum Working Group, made up of resident members representing a cross section of field sport and community interests, will encourage and promote regular communication and collaboration between field sports groups and Municipal staff and Council.

Duties

The Field Sports Forum Working Group will focus on the following tasks:

Work in collaboration with Municipal staff to collect and prioritize proposed infrastructure capital expenditure items for District of West Vancouver fields to be included in the District's annual budget and five year financial plan;

Work with staff and interested field sport groups to develop priority improvements for West Vancouver sport fields, such as storage, washroom facilities and other amenities;

Assist field sport groups in applying for grants and facilitating sponsorship opportunities, working within the Council Sponsorship and Partnership Policy;

Develop and "grow" the role of the West Vancouver Field Sport Forum to ensure an ongoing relevant and collaborative role between field sport groups, Municipal staff and other organizations active in similar roles within the Municipality.

Develop, with the involvement of Field Sport Groups and the community, a Sport Field Master Plan for consideration by Council Origin of Work

An ongoing Field Sports Forum was recommended by the Community Sport Working Group report approved by Council on October 6, 2008.
